Challenge
How can we bridge sports and conservation with the intention of protecting the Florida panther?
Solution
An app that engages with Florida Panther Hockey fans through game-day experiences, challenges, and education about the Florida panther.

Team Panther was accepted into Ligature 2025, a showcase for the Graphic Design students at the University of Florida.

It was the summer of 2024 when the Florida Panther hockey team was on their way to victory. Around this same time I had come across a documentary about the wild Florida panther, Path of the Panther, where I learned about their vulnerable state in Florida's built environment. This is where my interest of bridging sports and conservation was born.
My research began by researching the Florida panther, ranging from how many are left in the wild to ways we can help the Florida panther. The biggest solution: awareness and raising funds. This led me to mix two of my interests: Florida Hockey and the environment. If hockey fans could get excited about their team playing, I was interested to see if they would get passionate about saving their mascot.
I created user personas to get a better understanding of my target audience.

My research led me to attending conservation night at Amerant Bank Arena, to watch the panthers in action and to see their efforts towards panther conservation.

I used my research to develop "Team Panther" in low-fi wireframes in Figma.
